Anal sex can be intimidating for beginners, especially because of its bad reputation in popular beliefs: it's known to cause pain and discomfort.
Are those rumors about this natural, enticing sex act real? Well, I can't say that I never experienced pain from anal sex in my life: still, doing it correctly avoids 90% of the most common issues. For example, a proper quality lubricant is not an option, since the anus does not produce natural lubrication like the vagina does. Then, taking it slowly and building up the arousal one little step at a time, are very helpful precautions too.
Today, the sex essentials' market offers lots of topical solutions like gels and sprays to relax anal muscles, making for easier penetration, and to anesthetize the area, reducing pain without giving up pleasure. The Pjur Love Analyse Me! serum is known as one of the better solutions available on the adult market for anal sex, so I was eager to try it!
The Packaging
The product comes in a minimal, non gendered grey and yellow cardboard box. On the side there are directions for use in multiple languages, and on the back of the box the INCI of the product is clearly stated.
Inside, the small 20ml bottle is held in vertical position by the same kind of cardboard form I could find in the Pjur MySpray's packaging, to avoid spills during shipping.
The bottle has a pump dispenser, and it comes in the same grey and yellow unisex colours of the outer packaging. On the back of the bottle, there's the INCI once again.
The INCI
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Polymethylsilsesquioxane.
Polymethylsilsesquioxane is a substance derived from silicone, often used in anti-age and wrinkle concealing beauty products because of its properties: it's known to create a thin, smoothing film on the skin. In a product dedicated to anal sex, instead, this invisible film acts as a protection from eccessive friction. Also, I think the Polymethylsilsesquioxane is the reason for the serum's extremely smooth and velvety texture.
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone and Dimethiconol are silicones I find very often in silicone-based lubes: they're also widely used in cosmetic products as conditioning agents.
However, while the Analyse Me! serum is silicone-based, this doesn't mean that it can replace a good anal lubricant: the directions for use suggest to combine the product with the lube from the same range. This product is compatible with latex condoms, but I wouldn't use it in combination with my silicone sex toys.
As you can see, the Analyse Me! serum does not contain lidocaine or benzocaine: that's why it doesn't reduce the feelings of pleasure coming from anal sex.
The texture
The Polymethylsilsesquioxane and the silicones in the product create an extremely smooth, silky texture: that's why the Analyse Me! serum is so pleasant to the touch. It reminds me a little of those velvety translucent face primers that create an even complexion and a perfectly smooth base for make up: I'm sure that this anal sex aid would double as a perfect beauty treat!
It gives the same silky feeling of silicone based lubricants, but it's thinner: after I applied it for the first time, I nearly forgot about it.
The effect
I was expecting to feel numb after applying this, but I simply didn't at all: no tingling, cooling or reduced sensitivity. The 'face primer' effect that this serum creates on the skin makes for a smoother, easier penetration, that's even better in combination with a good anal lube.
I really loved the sensations given by this product, and I will definitely buy it again: it helped me to insert my favourite jewel butt plug, that is a little on the large side, very easier than before, to wear it for a longer period of time, and to enjoy more anal play with my partner.
I think that this product has a very different feel in comparison with the Pjur Analyse Me! Anal Comfort Spray, that acts by relaxing the muscles thanks to the properties of Aloe and Panthenol. I'm planning on trying the spray too, and I'll let you know how it goes!
In Conclusion
I really loved the Analyse Me! serum and, since I love to wear butt plugs for extended periods of time, I'll buy it again! The smoothing sensation it gives on the skin and the protective film it creates on intimate areas are something I've never experienced before with other 'better anal sex' products.
I would recommend it to everyone who loves anal play, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation: only, I suggest not to use it with sex toys made from silicone.
