AQUAMEO water-based lubricant

Updated: Apr 13, 2018

It's reviewing time again here at my sex toy testing labs and today we're going to talk about the absolute must-have that should never run out in our bedrooms: a good old water-based lube!

This post has the purpose to introduce the most inexperienced couples to the advantages of using a sex lubricant as well as reviewing a basic product for more experienced users: the German brand MEO kindly called my attention to the AQUAMEO as one of their most popular sex essentials and here I am, bringing to you my thoughts about it!

The 100ml bottle arrived sealed, but not wrapped in the translucent plastic I found on the EXTREMEO anal comfort spray. It looks quite big, and I can see on MEO's website they only offer the 100ml size: after all I think it's meant to use everyday (or at least every time you have sex or some self-love time!) as a basic product, and not as a novelty to try once in a while like the Cock Candy could be.

The bottle has the usual masculine look I have learnt to expect from MEO's sex essentials: it's black and minimal with the name of the product in bold blue. How many times I wanted to add a lubricant to sexy care packages meant as gifts for my Daddy Dom, but I only could find girly pink bottles he would have mistaken for feminine skin care!

The product is exactly the basic, unscented and unflavored lube you need to add comfort to your lovemaking sessions: not sticky and perfect for oral, since it has no chemical aftertaste.

Its texture feels lightweight on my skin: it hasn't the jelly-like consistency of the Cock Candy, and I found it to be lighter than most anal lubricants I have tried before. That's why the instructions on MEO.de suggest the AQUAMEO is perfect for both anal and vaginal intercourse.

I love water based lubes because they're compatible with all sex toys, including the ones made in silicone. On the AQUAMEO's bottle, also, is clearly stated that the product is suitable for use with latex condoms.

The instructions for use are stated on the back of the bottle, in different languages to help starters to move their first steps with sex lubes. And the product is very cheaper than average: you get 100ml at 9.99€. It obviously doesn't last on the skin as long as the silicone-based FUCKSLUT I've reviewed before, but still more than my average water-based lubricant.

Last but not least, here's the INCI of the product:

Water, glycerine, hydroxypropyl, guar, hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, hydroxyethylcellulose, citric acid, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerine

Let's start by saying that Glycerine is derived from sugar in some way and this causes it to be not the best lube ingredient for someone who's prone to yeast infections. I've never had issues with this nor other lubes containing Glycerine, but I'm neither ever been prone to yeast infections. All other ingredients are widely considered to be safe for use on the skin.

Overall this is a must-have basic I will buy again because it's a good value for the money.

If you want to try the AQUAMEO for yourself, buy your own 100ml bottle at 9.99€ (8.71£ and 12.30 USD on 09/04/2018) here.

I've received the AQUAMEO free of charge from MEO in exchange for my review, but this doesn't affect the honesty of my thoughts expressed in this post. Thanks MEO! This post contains affiliate links: shopping through them, you support my work at no extra cost for you.
