In some previous reviews for male sex toys, I have already opened up about the erectile issues that my partner experienced in the last few months, because of an illness.
He's luckily better now, but the experience of not being able to achieve an erection as easily as before, or seeing it disappear with no reason during intercourse, has scarred the both of us as a couple.
What's positive, is that we learnt a lot from our scars: we discovered that the adult industry offers today lots of safe, reliable solutions for this scary but common issue: something as simple as a cockring, a penis pump or a cream specifically formulated to boost the blood flow into the penis can really help, without the need to reach for prescription drugs.
I had already seen Pjur Man Steel and Pjur Man Xtend on the shelves of the best adult stores in my local area, and on the most renowned sex toy shops online. They've been recommended to my partner for a long time thanks to their ability to improve the blood circulation in his most intimate body part, but we never had the opportunity to try them before.
Today, we're ready to review both the products for our readers: Pjur has kindly agreed to send us some press samples to test for our readers!
The packaging
Both products came in an external cardboard box and a 50ml flip top tube. The cardboard boxes, in a masculine colour palette and design, provide a short description of the product, while the INCI is clearly written on the back. The shelf life of both creams, the expiry date and a lot number are printed on the bottom of the boxes.
On the two tubes, designed in the same colours of the external boxes, I can see the INCI and the shelf life clearly written on the back, while on the tubecrease I find the expiry date and a lot number.
Pjur Man Steel
As soon as we opened the product, we liked its lightweight gel-like consistency on the skin. The product looks white-ish and has nearly no scent at all: it absorbs very fast and gives a very mild tingling sensation.
As for the INCI:
Aqua (Water), Dimethicone, Glycerin, Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Glycol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Sodium Polyacrylate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil, D-Limonene.
Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract and Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil are obviously the powerful active principles that improve blood circulation in the penis, making for stronger and more reliable erections.
The Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, or sunflower oil, soothes and nourishes the intimate skin. Dimethicone is a silicone I find so often in anal lubes: because of its presence in the INCI, I would recommend to be careful to avoid putting this product in contact with cockrings and other sex toys made in silicone.
Other ingredients are preservatives or emulsionants. The product is fully compatible with latex condoms.
The directions for use I found on the completely redesigned official website of Pjur Love, advise to apply the Pjur Man Steel right before sex to achieve a stimulating, performance-boosting effect: an intensive massage with the product helps reactivating blood circulation. On a side note: I really love the new look of the company's website, it's so trendy and easy-to-navigate!
When it came to finally try the product together with my partner, we found that, if applied with a throrough massage, it provides an immediate invigorating effect, similar to when you wear a cockring or are particularly aroused. We didn't know that a simple massage with the right gel could be so effective!
The Pjur Man Steel definitely worked for us: we will buy more of it when we run out. If you think it could be the right product for you too, you can find it sold at 16,95€ directly from Pjur Love here.
Pjur Man Xtend
The Pjur Man Xtend has a thicker consistency than the Pjur Man Steel: it looks more like a lightweight, non-greasy cream than like a gel. It has no scent, and it looks white and opaque.
I learnt from Pjur Love's official website that this product is not intended to provide an immediate effect, but it's been studied for long-term use: we're planning to try it in combination with the Pjur Man Steel.
So, let's take a closer look to the INCI of this cream:
Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Isononanoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Ceteareth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Allantoin, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Urea, Dextrin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Hydrolyzed Silk, Lactic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopherol.
The INCI is a little longer than the one of the Pjur Man Steel: that's because this product contains more moisturizing, soothing and nourishing ingredients for long-term care of intimate skin.
Glycerin, Panthenol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Hydrolyzed Silk and Urea are all soothing and conditioning ingredients, widely used in beauty products, that help to rejuvenate the skin with a constant use.
Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract and Panax Ginseng Root Extract improve blood circulation in the male intimate area, to boost your performance in the bedroom over time.
Dimethicone is a silicone-derived ingredient, but since this cream is not intended for use straight before sexual activity, I don't see the risk of contact with silicone sex toys. The product is, however, compatible with latex condoms.
When I had my partner try it, he said that the cream absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving greasy residuals. The instructions for use advise to apply it with a throrough massage, to reactivate circulation.
He's been using it constantly for three weeks at the date of today and we can definitely see an improvement in the quality of his erections and his self-confidence.
Also, by using the Pjur Man Extend over a long period of time, we got better immediate results from the Pjur Man Steel, applied right before sex.
The use of the two products in synergy has convinced us, and we're very satisfied with the results: my guy says he'll keep using the Pjur Man Xtend every night before bed. If you would like to add this product to your intimate wellness routine too, you can buy it directly from Pjur Love at 16,95€ here.
I received both the products free of charge from Pjur in exchange for my honest review. Special thanks to Vanessa, the press manager of the company. Unaffiliated post.
