#SoSS Blog Round Up: Sex Tech

Updated: Apr 6, 2018

Today I decided to focus my #SoSS blog round up on sex tech. I am always amazed at new, technologically advanced products that come out of the adult toy factories to make our sex lives better, and I want to see if other bloggers and reviewers are as enthusiastic as I am!

But first to talk about how far the sex toy industry has pushed its own boundaries today, we need to take a step back and, thanks to this beautifully drawn guest comic by Emi Gennis at Erika Moen's Oh Joy Sex Toy website, we learn the history of the vibrator that was first used as a medical appliance in late 1800's to treat a disease called hysteria. Then in the 1920's these appliances started to be featured as sex toys in the first adult films and in 1960's they started to be marketed as sex toys. Interesting, isn't it?

Today one of the technologies that is growing faster in the adult industry is the one that allows companies to create realistic, human looking and natural sized sex dolls: check out this older post of mine to see some photos kindly offered by a Chinese company that produces them, Smail Technology. But looks like the doll technology will not stop at this stage: some manufacturers are already implementing artificial intelligence to their creations to make sex robots a reality in the not so far future. At this point it is natural to ask ourselves a question, alarming for many: will we fall in love with sex robots? Here's a complete and meaningful answer from Girl On The Net:

But even without thinking to the future of robotic sex dolls able to talk and act like humans, right now in 2018 already exist sex toys that are jewels of design and high tech at the same time. They connect with our smartphones to let us have a virtual sex experience with our long distance partners and they can sync their vibration with the moves of our favourite porn actor/actress in specifically made videos.

I'd love to have you read this well written and complete review by Bondage God for the Sense Max Sense Tube, an innovative male masturbator that syncs with adult videos from the Sense Lovers App for mobile:

And here's a review I found of the Kiiroo Onyx 2 and Pearl 2 at Teledildonics.co:

The porn industry also is introducing a big innovation with VR. Here's Candy Snatch's review of the Sense Max VR Headset from MEO:

Here's also an interesting article from Cara Sutra about VR porn and teledildonics (sex toys that sync to videos or allow you to have "long distance sex" over the internet with a partner):

What do you think about sex tech? Will sex robots be a thing in the future? Let me know in the comments!
