This week my partner and I are having great fun testing and reviewing some delicious vegan edible cosmetics from Nuei: luckily for us, the Spanish company has sent our way two gorgeous gift boxes full of interesting products for women, men and couples.
Today we're going to experiment with the different fragrances and flavours of Inlube, the water-based lubricant of the Spanish brand, enriched with Aloe Vera.
We can already smell a sweet, sexy strawberry fragrance straight from the gift box, before opening the lube tubes!
The packaging
All the four flavours we got in our press kit - Marshmallow, Strawberry, Heart of Lollipop and Natural, come in a 100ml white flip-top tube. On the back of the packaging, we can see clearly stated the INCI and the shelf life of the product (12 months after opening), while a silver label indicates that the lube is paraben-free.
The tubes look minimal but classy, and they're so discreet that I would leave them in plain sight in my bathroom: my mother, who can't read their labels in English and Spanish, will mistake them for heavenly scented body lotions!
Their openings are protected by a translucent plastic seal: this avoids unwanted spills during the shipping process, and guarantees that the product is new, unopened and completely hygienic.
The INCI
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcelulose, Aroma, Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Sodium Saccharine, Disodium EDTA.
Glycerin and Sodium Saccharine improve the sweetness of the lube, but they might not be suitable for women who are prone to yeast infections: they may contribute to the growth of
candida.
Aloe Barbadensis Extract has a soothing and moisturizing effect on the intimate skin.
Sodium Citrate and Citric Acid regulate the pH of the product to an acidic value, similar to the one of a fertile woman's vagina (around 4.5): this avoids imbalances that may lead to intimate infections. Other ingredients are preservatives, that explain the long shelf life of the product once the bottle has been opened.
The lube is free from gluten and sugar, so it's suitable even for people with diabetes, celiac disease or food intolerances. It's 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and compatible with all sex toys and condoms.
The product
We would spread those lubes on a toast for breakfast! The flavours are natural and sweet without chemical aftertaste, like the ones of the Nuei Hot Oil.
My favourite is Heart of Lollipop, which is the sweetest of them all: its scent lasts for hours on my skin after the yummy play session!
My partner, instead, prefers Strawberry which reminds him of his mom's homemade jam.
Marshmallow tastes just like a real candy, while the Natural lube is completely unscented and unflavoured.
All the Nuei Inlube flavours are non-sticky: they don't stain and come off easily with water.
We are satisfied with the gliding effect of the product and with its lightweight, gel-like consistency.
In Summary
The Nuei Inlube is a high-quality vegan water-based lubricant. We'll buy it again becuase of its pleasant texture and its realistic flavours with no chemical aftertaste.
We'll plan on trying the other flavour available, Brazilian Guarana, as well.
